Sabin Girls on the Run (GOTR) is an after-school movement program that combines social-emotional learning & training for a celebration 5K. Through interactive activities, we teach and encourage confidence, connection, character, caring, & contribution to our community. Teammates learn to stretch themselves – physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally – and in the process, gain the skills needed to live a life full of self-confidence and healthy habits. You do not have to be a runner to join – we move in lots of fun ways!
Sabin has a fall & spring season offering reduced-cost program scholarships for 3rd – 5th grade girls. Contact Ms. Rachel Kerstiens (rachel_kerstiens@dpsk12.net) or Ms. Nel Possiel (janel_possiel@dpsk12.net) for more information. Our purpose is to provide high quality educational, recreational and cultural opportunities for children. Discovery Link’s philosophy is to provide a creative, safe and caring environment for children before and after the regular school day. We believe that choice is essential for children’s growth and happiness. We teach children to solve their own problems by modeling correct behavior and emphasizing clear conduct guidelines. Our child care centers are staffed with qualified professionals trained in the areas of CPR, First Aid, and activity planning and behavior management. Discovery Link operates Monday-Friday with the following program components and hours of operation.
Discovery Link is offering full-day camps at Sabin this year. Our next camps will be offered 10/10 & 10/11. Please reach out to leilani_siens@dpsk12.net or discovery_link@dpsk12.org if you have any questions about registration for these camps.

Reflection
Hello! My name is Leilani Siens and I am the Program Supervisor for Discovery Link at Sabin. I have worked at Sabin for nearly five years, first providing support in classrooms. During the 22-23 and 23-24 school years, I provided support in classrooms and after school at Discovery Link.
We at Discovery Link are delighted to welcome Sabin students to the enrichment-based morning program (art club) and our after-school program. We look forward to spending time with and getting to know your students and families. As educators, we strive to cultivate an environment that will foster curiosity and a life-long love of learning. Discovery Link is designed to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of all the children we serve, contributing to their growth and success both in and out of the classroom.
I believe that the best way to ensure success is by strengthening the connection between our program, the school, the students and families we serve, and our community at large. We strive to have open communication between our program, parents and families of the students we serve, and Sabin staff. Please feel free to bring your questions, concerns, comments, and recommendations to me or any member of the Discovery Link staff.
We are excited and ready for an awesome year at Sabin World Elementary!
